When it came time to design the ProFlow logo, I needed a symbol that captured how the whole thing came to be — and the answer came from nature. On a trip, lying down beneath a pine tree, my eye caught on a pine cone. Looking into it further, I found a few striking facts that turned out to mirror what ProFlow is all about:
- A pine cone's scales grow in a strict mathematical spiral, based on the Fibonacci sequence — one of nature's clearest examples of chaos turning into order. That's exactly what I do with projects: I turn a messy idea into an organized, repeatable process.
- A pine cone doesn't form overnight. It takes several years to mature before it opens and releases its seeds — much like the experience I draw on, which wasn't built in a single project or a single year, but over several decades of real work.
- Its scales are tough and tightly sealed, holding the seeds inside until the right conditions arrive for them to sprout — and for some pines, the cone only opens after fire or intense heat. ProFlow came about in exactly the same way — an idea about sharing experience that had to mature before it was released out into the world.
- Every scale hides a seed for a new tree — and every finished project, every project manager I train, becomes a seed for the future growth my clients are working toward.
